I haven't seen you since the Futures Council. I just saw Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead a few weeks ago myself and got similarly inspired. I hadn't made the jump yet, but your post has put me a lot closer. I wanted to do the same and look at this as a long term thing to increase my fruit/vegetable intake along with a sensible diet and not specifically to juice fast.

Seems like you're doing well with it and the Breville was a good purchase. It'd be great to hear a follow up in the weeks and months ahead to hear how you're progressing.

Thanks for the great article!

Regards,

Wayne Lansdowne

Janssen Jones comments on The New Fit Lifestyle Part 4 - Measuring with Blood Work

Ben,

I'm 5'10", so pretty close to your height. From the charts I've looked at, 173 is the border for a 5'10 male to go from "normal weight" to "over weight" from a BMI perspective.

As for exercise, I've been limiting exercise to no more than 30 minutes per day, and generally less. I've been alternating between 20-30 minute chest/back workouts, shoulder/arm workouts, and runs, and usually get 3-5 workouts in per week. That seems to be more than enough to reach the "minimum effective dose".

Janssen

Ben Armstrong comments on The New Fit Lifestyle Part 4 - Measuring with Blood Work

Out of curiosity - what height are you? (that will let me figure out your BMI compared to my BMI).

As I am allergic to most common sources of carbs - I have very little trouble losing weight when I want to. But I have a devil of a time maintaining a healthy weight (I am 5' 11" and my weight tends to swing between 165 to 185 pounds).

Luckily - through nothing other than genetic luck of the draw - I have always had great blood work. But I have been having to exercise a lot recently to deal with (genetic) tendon and joint issues. On one hand - I hate the exercise, but on the other hand my wife loves the results :-)

Cheers,
Ben
